In The Beginning
When Laurier and Laudia Theriault opened their mobile canteen in Moncton, in 1949, they never imagined their little takeout on wheels would grow into an iconic family-run business beloved by generations of Maritimers.
In Deluxe’s early days, customers would find the Deluxe food truck at its regular spot on St. George Street or out and about at local baseball fields and beaches. They quickly built a dedicated following of customers hungry for delicious food at good value.
In 1953, the Theriaults opened their first restaurant, a small takeout counter, in Moncton. In the decades that followed, Deluxe continued to grow. Today, it has 13 locations across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It is still a family business, with second- and third-generation Theriaults continuing Laurier and Laudia’s legacy.
At Deluxe, every meal is made to order and made by hand. It takes a little longer, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. And it all happens right in front of your eyes in our open kitchens.
We source only the best ingredients and support local suppliers whenever possible. From the fresh fish and seafood in our famous English-style fish and chips and platters to the Maritime-grown potatoes in our hand-cut fries, we believe delicious meals start with good, real food.
